ATC Performance Snapback White
The Performance Collection was developed for active consumers who like to pack light but carry a heavy workload. All headwear in the collection is constructed with lightweight materials, repel water and sweat stains, and stretch for added comfort. Everything evolves over time, and we believe headwear should be no different, what once was essential now performs and enhances experiences.
This hat commemorates CMSgt Tom Maynard. Active duty Air Force air traffic controller from 1962 to 1986. Chief Maynard spent over 12 of those 24 years serving at various duty stations all across Asia and the pacific. Tom was one of very few Air Force personnel trained to run an FAA center and was instrumental in keeping US air travel going during the controller strike in 1981. At one point in his career, Tom was Chief of the Tower at Edward’s Air Force Base during several Space Shuttle landings. Chief Maynard was a key figure in development and testing of several top secret aircraft to include the SR-71 and F-117 fighter. He retired in New Mexico in 1986 and was given his farewell to the rumble of 4 F-15s with his wife, 3 children and the entire base at his side.
